Owner of CPT, Diplomate Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy

 

Hugh Murray, Physical Therapist, Diploma Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from the McKenzie Institute International, received his degree in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University in 1976, License #237 in West Virginia, with an inactive license in Kentucky and California. He attended the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Hayward, California, in 1979.

Mr. Murray has gained experience in the McKenzie Approach to mechanical pain through examination and treatment of patients, personal study, Diploma training in New Zealand, association with the McKenzie Institute International, and Robin McKenzie. He received his Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from the McKenzie Institute International in 1991.

Mr. Murray is certified as a teaching faculty member of the McKenzie Institute. He has taught "Introduction, Evaluation and Treatment of the Lumbar Spine" Part A, Evaluation and Treatment of the Cervical Spine, Headaches and Thoracic Spine, Part B on a regular basis throughout the continental United States and Alaska. He teaches the Advanced Clinical Skills Update, CSU. He is a proctor for the Exam Committee of the McKenzie Institute USA. He teaches 8 to 12 courses a year.

He is presently in private practice in Charleston, West Virginia, with CPT Physical Therapy Specialists, Inc. He actively evaluates and treats patients, consults with industry, performs Functional Capacity Evaluations and consults with Work Conditioning / Work Hardening. He performs Pre-Placement Physicals for some 20 employers.

CPT is a residency site for West Virginia University, Marshall University, and Ohio University.

Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist

 

Bobbi Jo came to Charleston, West Virginia, in 1995 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with her Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. In 1996, she started focusing on upper extremity therapy at CAMC's outpatient facility. She joined CPT in 2002, becoming a Certified Hand Therapist later that same year, one of only four in the State at that time. In 2010, she became Certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. When not at work, she enjoys time with her husband and three children. She organized the Book Fair at Kenna Elementary for the last three years. She has qualified to run the Boston Marathon in 2018.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

 

A West Virginia native, Tyler McGrew is a 2016 graduate of the Marshall University School of Physical Therapy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University in 2013. Tyler has received extensive specialized post-graduate training in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy through the McKenzie Institute USA and is certified in MDT. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife, Mary.

Erin handles insurance authorizations, billing, and scheduling your first visit appointment. Erin also manages the compliance of our staff to keep up-to-date credentials. Erin enjoys yoga and her grandchildren.

Vicki Hill, Receptionist | vicki@cptwv.com​

 

Vicki is the face that cheerfully greets you as you enter our office. She manages answering phones, scheduling appointments, and taking co-pay payments.  When she is not handling the front desk she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
